Located just outside of the walls of Bruges and 10 minutes from the trains station, B&B Chantecler is the ideal starting point for your visit. It is very easy to access our B&B, either by car or by train. You’ll easily find free parking space in the street, just outside the house and you can leave your car safely during your stay. Once you are here, you can either take your car, use public transport (only 10 to 15 min by bus to the Grote Markt), use one of our bicycles for free (about 10 min to the Smedenpoort) or go on foot (about 15 to 20 min to the Smedenpoort).

  • Take the A10/E40 highway Brussels – Ostend
  • Take exit 8 (Brugge) – this is the Expressweg
  • Continue and pass 3 tunnels
  • Take the exit on your right (Sint-Andries / Nieuwpoort / Gistel)
  • Take right at the traffic lights (Gistelsesteenweg)
  • Continue to n°167

Public transport

  • Take the train to Brugge station
  • Go to the front of the train station to the bus stops
  • Take bus n° 5 – Sint-Andries (Hermitage) or bus n° 15 – Sint-Andries- Both are 8 min rides
  • Ask the driver to stop at Lange Munt
  • Go back 150m to n° 167

The easiest way to get around is to leave your car at the house, and take one of our bikes – for free! – or go on foot, but of course this depends on the weather conditions and your physical condition. The closest entrance to city is the Smedenpoort, which is only 10 minutes by bike or 15 to 20 minutes on foot (just follow the Gistelse Steenweg till the entrance of the city).

With a bus stop at 20 meters from the house, the public bus is a very easy alternative. Remember that tickets are cheaper when you by them at the train station or Zand, rather than on the bus. You can either buy single tickets or day tickets. An adult day ticket will cost you 5 euro and 7 euro when buying it on the bus. Ask the bus driver or the ticket officer which might be the best solution and rate for you. In the weekend, there are night buses which will take you back until 2 AM. And if you miss this one, you can take a taxi back to the B&B, which will cost you about 15 euro per ride.

You can always take your car, but remember that parking in the city is scarce and expensive. You can always park your car in the parking near the train station, and then go on foot from there. You will only be charged 2 euro for the full day at this 24/7 parking space.
